ResComi celebrated its 20th anniversary
17 May 2019ResComi Oy, which operates in Raahe and Oulu, celebrated its 20th anniversary on May 9, 2019 at the Raahe Business College (Raahen Porvari- ja Kauppakoulu). In the school’s Fellman Ballroom, the program featured music, awards, art, and history as part of a local menu. The guests of the event gave the loudest applause for the 20th anniversary work, which had been designed by Kaisa Mattila, a student at Merikatu School.
There were about 40 long-term partners celebrating, mainly from Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Oulu and Tampere. The company has gained a reputation as a reliable IT partner with 20 years of experience.
ResComi was founded by Juha Sipilä and Raimo Seikkala of Fortel Invest Oy on May 6, 1999. ResComi's operations began in Raahe in 1999 and in Oulu the following year. Development projects for mobile phone software and telecommunications operators were delivered initially.Software projects were delivered e.g. for Nokia, Sonera, Zed, DNA and Jippii. Cooperation with the telecommunications industry came to a halt in the industry's cash crisis when in 2000 Sonera paid FIM 24 billion for four UMTS licenses in Europe.
Nokia's mobile phone software was developed at ResComi from its inception until 2014, when Stephen Elop closed the mobile phone company's Finnish units. Fortunately, the transition from Nokia’s Symbian operating system to Android was successful, and so the development of mobile software continued in the company. The company has 20 years of experience in cooperating with the world's most important mobile brands in the field of mobile software.
Alongside mobile device projects, the development of e-commerce solutions began, and the first extensive system was the web-based ticketing system developed for the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in 2003. Strong expertise in servers, server platforms and databases for e-services development projects helped strengthen ResComi's client base, and in 2004 co-operation began with the domestic paper and engineering industries.
The IT solutions were based on the company's strong system expertise, and the applications have improved the productivity, logistics efficiency, production quality and occupational safety management of client companies in the industry.
After Nokia Mobile Phones Oy ceased operations in Finland in 2014, ResComi decided to seek new growth in IT system integration deliveries. The company has extensive experience in integration platforms and integration solutions from Microsoft BizTalk, IBM Integration Bus, Azure Logic Apps, MuleSoft, SAP, Ensemble Health Share and MQ Series.
Throughout its history, the company has had world-class clients as partners, and cooperation with them has strengthened ResComi's expertise. Leveraging 20 years of experience, the company specialises in mobile software, IT systems integration, digital services, and industrial IT solutions along with server system delivery and maintenance.
